The West Course is a classic Arnold Palmer designed 18-hole golf course in Myrtle Beach and one of three unique layouts which comprise the Myrtle Beach National complex.
Carolina pines frame a traditional, scenic layout filled with doglegs, fairway bunkers and natural hazards - forgiving to a degree but don’t be fooled as there is just enough sand and water to make the West Course a challenge for most golfers. Fairways that are wide enough to allow your shot back into play; true-rolling greens with just enough speed to make each putt an interesting one.
A unique part-3 finishing hole rounds out the excitement on this course rated 4.5 stars in Places to Play by Golf Digest Magazine.
A well-sized practice facility located within the Myrtle Beach National facility includes driving range and putting green.

MBN West was the highlight of our trip. It was a challenging, but not too difficult layout and had some of the best rounds from my group. We will be making the West Course a must-play for future trips.

Played this course several times. 90 rule was in effect as fairways and rough still has some VERY wet spots. That said the course was very playable. Our group covered a lot of the course looking for our missed hit balls and found everyone among the trees and in the rough. Course was in overall good shape. Greens were firm and speed was manageable. 2 putted every green. (No 3 putts) Not a flat green on the course, thatand039s why I like it.

Tee Boxes, Bunkers and Greens are in very good shape. Fairways were spotty and brown ( not sure why with all the rain we had this July and August ) Pace of play was excellent Just under 4 hours.
